We all are aware of the fire, that broke out at the RK Studios on 16th July. It was huge and burned not only stage one, but more memorable and important things that were very valuable not only to The Kapoors’ but to Bollywood as well and once in a lifetime sort of things. It was finally controlled and perished on Sunday afternoon.
It would definitely have been the sad day for Rishi Kapoor, as all that valuable things which were kept there, were in the family for generations. Apart from the structural and economic loss, it was the emotional loss, as the money or structure may be recovered, but those inherited things can never again be generated.
All family, friends, and well-wishers within and outside the industry, started to show all their compassion and support to the family instantly and made them feel that their pain is understood. They did it via messages, but then there was one, who decided to post a cartoon about it, and Rishi Kapoor was not very happy with this gesture.
Rishi who is already the perfect star of Bollywood is nowadays famous for openly letting out whatever he feels. He does not believe in holding back, his thoughts or his words either. At the moment like this, when he was already suffering from a great loss, how could he keep it sober or for how long, so he reacted on that cartoon with words like these;
‘This is bad. We take objection to this kind of depraved sick humor.’
What actually happened that, a news daily published a cartoon, showing fire at RK Studios and a featuring a cartoon resembling Rishi. It was written in there, that fire should be depicted as good omen as
It all started for Rishi with a movie titled ‘Aag.’
Rishi was tagged in the tweet by one of his followers, and Rishi wrote back “This is bad. We take objection to this kind of depraved sick humor.”
Talking about the losses occurred, Rishi told a news daily, “There were costumes from every RK film, from Awaara to Chalen. Most of the stuff was kept neatly in trunks and some of it was even labeled. The costumes worn by every RK heroine, from Nargis to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is lost. The jewelry worn by Padmini in Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai was also stored here with a lot of love. There were spears, sabers, artifacts, furniture and other regalia used for the various shoots. The Mera Naam Joker mask and clothes… Dabboo and I couldn’t believe what hit us. This is probably why they say that one should never put all eggs in one basket. But for us, this was our father’s legacy, and it was a treasure trove.”
It was just a few weeks ago when Rishi had to delete the tweet after complaint. The tweet was deemed child abuse by many. But we can definitely tell this after all, that jokes must know the limit. And we must draw a line.
