What if we can click a photo over a smart phone and print it immediately wherever and whenever. Yes it is possible now thanks to HP(Hewlett Packard) who has launched a mini pocket size photo printer called as HP Sprocket.
This mini printer allows smart phones to print photographs instantaneously through Bluetooth. HP Sprocket connects to a smart phone and can print 2 x 3 inch size photograph.
As company says that in today’s world the smart phones have become the default for taking snaps. But people don’t go to photo stores now to take prints and slowly, one forgets about those pictures or memories. The main idea for launching this device is that a physical photo is always helpful in bringing back memories even after ages whenever one sees them.
Off course a user will have to download the HP sprocket app in their smart phones to enable the printing process. This app is available both on Google Play Store and App Store. It can not only print photos from the gallery app but also can print photos from social media account too. The HP Sprocket app has features to add borders and filters to the photographs. The print outs can also be a sticker as the paper’s back peels and sticks.
The device uses Zink technology to print photographs. The company claims that Zink photo paper delivers colourful, smudge-proof, water-resistant and tear-resistant photos without ink or toner cartridges as all the colours required for printing are embedded in the Zink photo paper itself. The Zink photo paper costs Rs 539 for 20 sheets and Rs 1249 for 50 sheets. A pack of 10 paper is included in the box when one buys the printer.
The Sprocket is available at Amazon India and HP’s official website for price of Rs 8999.
