In this modern day scenario, people tend to eat all junk and sugary foods all the time since, they do not have time to concentrate and plan a healthy and well – balanced meal due to their hectic work life. Kids consume too much sugar items these days which can lead to many other health issues such as weight gain, diabetes, etc in the future. Sugar has no nutrients in it; instead it only adds more calories. Everyone should know how much sugar they should consume every day in order to prevent any health issues in the future as per the saying “Prevention is better than cure”.

Hence, according to a research done in USA in the year 2008, the approximate quantity of sugar that should be consumed daily is 19 teaspoons. 19 teaspoons of sugar measures about 76.7 grams. 19 teaspoons of sugar is equal to 306 calories. Unfortunately, it’s proven that it’s too high still.

Henceforth, the research done at American Heart Association has concluded that the maximum sugars that can be consumed are:

  • Men – 9 teaspoons of sugar that measures about 37.5 grams. 9 teaspoons of sugar is equal to 150 calories.
  • Female – 6 teaspoons of sugar that measures about 25 grams. 6 teaspoons of sugar is equal to 100 calories.

WHAT ARE THE ITEMS THAT HAS TO BE CUT DOWN TO REDUCE THE CONSUMPTION OF SUGAR DAILY?

These are the following food items that have to be cut down to have an ideal weight and health:

  1. Soft drinks
  2. Artificial Fruit juices
  3. Candies and sweets
  4. Baked food items
  5. Energy Drinks
  6. Canned fruits in sugary syrup
  7. Diet foods or also known as “low fat foods”
  8. Dried foods
  9. Saturated Fat Rich Food

WHAT ARE THE ITEMS THAT CAN BE CONSUMED EVERYDAY TO REDUCE THE CONSUMPTION OF SUGAR DAILY?

These are the following food items that can be consumed to have an ideal weight and health:

  • Lime Water
  • Tea
